Lots to do before leaving....
Today the forecast is still for sun - so today we load the motorhome. By tomorrow it is suppose to start raining, and will be much cooler. I'm looking forward to seeing out the motorhome windshield again.
Our plan is to leave home Tuesday morning - so I won't be 'blogging' too much now. I still have so much to do before we leave, and people I want to see. I'm hoping to get most of the loading done today - it's a big job as we are going to close down everything in the house and have our water pipes blown out. Since it freezes here in the winter, all canned goods, etc. have to be taken out of the house. This is NOT the part of going that I care for.
As you can see by the picture above, once we get on the road, we have lots of help navigating. That is Raymond in the glasses. Between Ray and that GPS - we always know where we are. And with Raymond along, we also get stories of the areas we're driving through - of course, they're all from a 'bear' perspective (and I don't believe most of it). Some of you know Ray, and how irritating he can be. I've tried every way I can think of to get out of taking him with us this year...but he and Ted E. Bear have never been left alone without us....so I got overruled. Oh, joy.

Raymond! Oh, that bear got onto so much trouble when he followed Brooke and I to Guatemala! He even tried to drive the chicken bus! Oh my.
As to the rest:
On The Road Again
Willie Nelson
On the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
On the road again
Goin' places that I've never been
Seein' things that I may never see again,
And I can't wait to get on the road again.
On the road again
Like a band of gypsies we go down the highway
We're the best of friends
Insisting that the world be turnin' our way
And our way
Is on the road again
Just can't wait to get on the road again
The life I love is makin' music with my friends
And I can't wait to get on the road again
On the road again

ahhh but Raymond the bear is so cute and cool with those glasses on...i have never heard a bear talking, let alone telling stories of all the places visited, i can only imagine what a treat that is, lol...
i betcha is kinda like going with Cuppojoe anywhere Jackie...he loves to tell his stories and to be honest i don't mind, for i often forget and so over and over i hear all about them and frankly i don't mind for i don't remember the last ton of times he told me..lol...
i cannot imagine how much work is to pack up and close down your home. it souds a bit like moving in a way..but there is much joy and adventure ahead so it's good to have that to look to while you are working so hard.
i am glad that you are excited about tuesday..i can't wait to hear all the adventures..it will feel like i'm coming along myself, so thank you for taking me along..lol..
keep on smiling friend and take care.
lol... Aunt Quilly, sssshhhh... Raymond is still in trouble for some of the things he tried to do in Guatemala... like sing with the marimba band at the chicken restaurant. Have fun, mama, and be safe.
Raymond's attempt to sing wasn't near as embarrassing as what he said to the waitress when he discovered they'd run out of flan! Oh, wait, Brookie -- that was you!
Sis -- I have posted a 5x5 Meme over at my place. If you've got time to be tagges, you're it. If not, feel free to skip it.
Oh, Chana, this bear would try a saint's patience! Raymond goes with us a lot. And he NEVER shuts up. I use to take him to classes when I was in school, I've taken him to the doctor with me, into resturants and stores. Adults never seem to have a problem with him - I've had waitress' ask if he wanted a menu - but little kids always look at me very strangely for some reason.
Yes, it's a pain with the loading and shutting down, etc. - but a small price to pay. I'll be keeping you posted. Have a good one.
Always, Brookie. xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Quilly-Sister, I'll do it. Sounds like fun. But later - I've got to get at it now and off here! No more playing, Little Jackie, get to work!!!
Jackie, thanks for visiting my blog today. I've had a chance to read some of yours, and it's delightful! Your upcoming trip sounds wonderful, too. I hope you'll be able to update your blog from the road occasionally; it would make great reading.
Quilly-Sister, just what is a meme? And what is tagges?? Secret blogger language???
Velvet Sacks - you're most welcome! And back at you. I was enjoying reading your blog. I don't usually think I have enough time to go to other blogs, but every once in awhile I'll see someones comment on someone's blog I go to - like I saw yours, and then I'll want to see what else they have to say. One thing I've learned on here in a month is - you can sure burn up a lot of daylight!!
Jackie is excited about her Xmas present waiting in AZ - a 1970 Cushman Trackster. She'll have fun deciding how to get the Trackster home to WA.
You know what you ought to do is get one of those handheld talking GPS sytems and plant it inside Raymond so that all of the sudden he might say, "Take the next left on Hwy 124. It is only 3 miles away." Terry might just run off the road, if that were to happen. Not my intention to kill anyone.
A meme is an "all about me, me" which you ought to be really good at. And tagges is my type-challeneged way of saying "tagged." You know, I taught myself to type, and the fact that I manage 60 wpm should be impressive -- probably would be if you could actually read anything I wrote. Sometimes I just need to sloooooow down.
To accept the tag, just come to my blog, read my Meme, post, copy and paste it to your blog, and change the answers to reflect you.
Tom, Raymond doesn't need any help giving orders. You should have seen him the day he tried to take Sonia's pastries. That's one bossy bear.
Road trip! Pack your Keruoac and bon voyage!
The closer your adventure gets, the more wanderlust I get! I hope you'll be blogging along the way at least once in awhile, I'll miss your posts and comments!
anonymous...you may as well use your name now...you fooled me the first two times you commented, but I'm onto you now, HUBBY!! (excited, my butt)
Tom, our GPS has voice activation so T would just think it was the one on the computer. He's had Ray around for a lot of years, so I doubt he'd be surprised by too much Ray does or says. You know, the rest of us only "play" about Ray, T BELIEVES!
Alright, Quilly-Sister, if I hadn't already posted about how sweet you were, I'd delete that word right out of there for that remark! LOL
Jenn - is Keruoac a suitcase of some kind? The only 'easy' part about packing the motorhome is that you carry it outside and put it right in...no boxes, etc. Thanks for the wishes.
Kat - I was going to stop doing this when we left, but guess I'm not ready yet, so, yeah, I'll do some along the way. I'm just always surprised about how much TIME it takes! I'll think I'm going on the computer for a few minutes...then I get led to one place after another....and I've always surprised how long I've been at it!
Ray may just have qualities better than some humans. Off the road or off the wall?
Keruoac -- you're joking, right? Right. Right?
Okay, Quilly-Sister, I can tell by the sarcastic tone of type that I must know this - so, am I to assume you mean Kerouac - as in Jack? I was looking for a word from her country, that was spelled with the u before the o!!
alright, anonymous, knock it off! you aren't fooling anyone, terry!
xoxoxo
Well, you know, I wondered if she spelled it wrong, but was too lazy to check ....
